1. What did you do in 2015 that you’d never done before? - Started seeing a psychologist, psychiatrist. Taking anxiety and depression meds. Everything involved with getting a driver’s license. Using Pilates machines. Living in a house my parents actually own. Not checking my professional email since June because I’m a coward. Quietly abandoning the PhD plans. Visiting new towns in the province and France. Eating frog legs.
2. Did you keep your new years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year? - Like I said last year: they are basically life resolutions by this point.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth? - No.
4. Did anyone close to you die? - No.
5. What countries did you visit? - France.
6. What would you like to have in 2016 that you lacked in 2015? - Same as last year and the year before that: an income, a place of my own, a sense of purpose, a life. Also, a pet.
7. What dates from 2015 will remain etched upon your memory? - I have a shitty memory. I can’t remember last year at all right now.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? - Driver’s license.
9. What was your biggest failure? - Abandoning the PhD plan.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury? - Judging from the medication, I’m going to say anxiety and depression. (They don’t actually come out and tell you “hey, so you have this thing”, though, which is weird. It’s like being given antibiotics but not being told you have an infection.) Also I was disgustingly sick with the flu early on in the year.
11. What was the best thing you bought? - I don’t know, some shirt or something.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration? - My internet peeps. My Pilates teacher. My driving teacher.
