Fuck! I just... god! This one was so hard to read, and yet, I simply couldn't stop. Because even with humanity leaking out of them, they still had each other, they still could only trust each other.
Even in death, insanity and horror... they count with each other.

I must excuse myself now, I shall go into a corner and cry my eyes out.

Ah, I feel like a cheat for reading the last two at the same time. Having the intentional delays between sections definitely had me (the reader) feeling the same irrational justifications for 'things might improve' if if if... at the same time as Sherlock & John.

I do appreciate how the ending drives us back to the beginning. And that Sherlock's last scenes were muzzled. A small victory getting out of the flat!
