Locked, but very hackable

Nov 13, 2007 10:15

I haven't told any of my friends that my birthday is coming up in a few days. With any luck, it'll pass right by and no one will know I turned thirteen. Even if I wanted a party, the eclipse is coming up soon, Iroh's back in prison (at least, I think he is... he just disappeared somewhere before that stupid fear virus and I know he's not with us ( Read more... )

almost in the clear, no party no big deal, birthday

...I think birthdays are more a celebration of the fact that you've gotten to spend more time with everyone.

Maybe for you, but I haven't exactly been with my friends very long, let alone here. Why should it matter to anyone else?

I need to learn how to lock entries better....

Still, it's a good way of marking things.
And you have been with them for a while now.

Only for a few months. Aang, Sokka, and Katara have been traveling together for a lot longer then that though. Besides, it's pretty obvious she doesn't want me around anymore.

...that you're turning thirteen? It means you're officially a teenager? I don't know. I didn't used to make a big deal out of birthdays, either... but now I have friends to do that with, like you do now, too.

I know there's a lot going on--but once things have settled down a little bit (this eclipse is going to be a turning point, right?) maybe you could at least tell everybody?

And... I'm still not really seeing why it matters. Sure I'm with people that don't treat me like some helpless little kid, but it's just another birthday. I may not have told them when my birthday is, but they probably wouldn't care anyway. I mean, we've got the invasion coming up soon.

The thing is the eclipse is after my birthday, so I'd just as soon not distract them from what needs to get done before then. Even if we're almost to the place where we're meeting everyone.

Yes, there's a war on, I know... but isn't that all the more reason to celebrate a birthday? Live in the moment? Enjoy what you have because it might not be there tomorrow?

You could at least stop for a few minutes and sing and have cookies or something....

I thought it would be better not to worry about attracting attention by having a party, at all. All the more reason not to, what's to miss if it wasn't celebrated at all.

What is it with you people and baked goods? I really don't want a party, or anything! Damn it all! *goes to slam head against a rock*

Wait, your birthday is in a few days?!

It might not seem all that important, but it's a celebration of a new year in your life beginning - not to mention a celebration of the fact that you were brought into the world in the first place. Even with the invasion coming up soon, I bet we could figure something out still! Maybe we can find a bakery in the next town that has some great pastries! :D

Uh, yeah, that's what I said.... Damn it, why didn't this lock?!

Really, Aang, you don't have to do anything. Seriously, don't do anything. Pastries? Well.... ... l;kdjfaslkjds I mean, NO!

*goes to smash a rock or something*

((Mun overrules her muse and approves of a party if your muse so desires. :D))

Iroh's back in prison? And after all the trouble I went through to bust him out, too? Damn it all! Just ... he'll be all right. He's a tough old cuss, I know he is. He's a survivor, he'll make it through this.

It's your birthday coming up?! Oh damn! I need to get you some kind of gift!

Yeah, he is.... At least, I think he is. I'm really sorry you went through all that trouble for nothing. But it was nice to know he really was okay for a little bit. If we find out he's in prison during the solar eclipse, I'm breaking him out, no matter what.

Uh, yeah. That's what I've been saying. A... no! Don't, really! You don't have to get me anything at all! I swear!

((Lol, she's totally flailing. XD))

Don't say that! It "wasn't for nothing"! And ... if we have to, we'll just break him out again, eclipse or no eclipse!

BUT I HAVE TO! At least let me send you a yummy cake and a birthday card? In braille, of course!

Only half for nothing. I only got to see him for a little while. And next time, I'm breaking him out.

No, don't! Really! Why does my resolve seem to disappear at the prospect of baked goods?! That person who liked books.... She mentioned braille. What the hell is it?!

Wow...that does sound like a pretty cruddy time to celebrate a birthday. I'd still love to give you a present...but hey, maybe we cna hold off celebrating until after all that insanity is out of the way?

Seriously, you don't have to get me anything. Holding it off? Sounds great. Put it off until next year, given that I live to see it. Then again, never would be nice too.

Never's a little harsh, isn't it? Us celebrating your birthday is just another way of saying we're glad you were born.

You make it sound like a bad thing. I'm just turning another year older, so it's just another day to me. Besides, it just brings back memories of being babied like any other day.
