I don't think I can decide which is my favorite (although I had to go and rewatch that bit when you mentioned it, eeee so good!) It's just such a fantastic series!
I swear my obsession with this show is insane. Now we haev to wait until FALL of next year for new stuff. *tears hair out* Good thing there's new Merlin (2 weeks) and Doctor Who for distraction...
Much less the fandom itself, which is all kinds of wonderful and geeky. ^_^ I loved Freeman as Arthur Dent in HHGTG but egads, he stole my heart as Watson. Perfect counterpart to Benedict's absolutely manic/drama queen Sherlock.
T_T FAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL. Yeah I'm totally at the tearing out hair stage and I thought vidding it would help but uh, no it just makes it worse.
The fandom is fantastic! People keep writing such lovely stuff that makes my heart ache from the goodness. The more I stare at Freeman's face and his reactions and just his lovelyness I realize that he's quickly turning into my favorite Watson. Jesus the man is so soulful.
There's that aspect, but i love the BAMF bit of John as well. He's so unassuming, that you don't expect the claws to come out. Especially in regards to Sherlock and they proved that several times over in just those three episodes. Possessive is an understatement when it comes to these two about each other. *grin

Heh, I've been obsessed with it since it came out! It just finally cracked me into playing with it.
I think it did, considering how close of a release (sorta) it was to the 2009 Sherlock Holmes. However Modern Day AUs are totally my kryptonite so I cling to this so.
Yes, I'm really pleased it did follow on the movie's coattails because I'd been craving a really well written modern day AU for a while and hadn't managed to find one. Now I have more than I know what to do with, haha.

"I have been reliably informed that I don't have one"
"well we both know that's not quite true"
I'm pretty sure it's that exchange that made hearts grow in my eyes. Why is that scene so wonderful? Gah!!
