The prospect of pursuing higher learning is daunting. When I graduated high school (mine has it's own wikipedia, which feels odd to me) some years ago I opted to postpone college in lieu of a "real world" education. My reasoning was that while my peers were buried in books, I'd be learning applicable, real, helpful skills: living alone, paying ( Read more... )

Well, thing is, I decided to go straight to uni after high school because if I did opt for 'real world education', I would see no point in going back to the books. Lack of self-control here, I'm a lazy person, so guess I should throw myself into formal education while I'm still at it.

if it feels like taking a step backwards, then i say don't do it. unless you absolutely need a college degree to get a job that makes you happy, it doesn't seem like it would be entirely worth it to you.

out of curiosity, do you know what you would study?

you're completely right. that's why i'm going back and forth on it.

i'd like to major in journalism. i think it would be beneficial to have more formal training in writing, you know? i was also considering art history, music, or philosophy. something that requires a creative mind.
