needing touch

Aug 22, 2008 00:51

I realized today that I have not really touched or been touched by anyone since last Thursday morning. I've had some hand shakes, a couple minor my-knee-bumped-your-knee-on-the-couch events, but that's it. I need hugs! And cuddles! I've been so thoroughly blessed with cuddly friends for at least the last 13 months that I had forgotten what it's ( Read more... )

Awww. Big squishy hugs for the Ben, to be collected in person the next time you see me! The biggest! And also the squishiest!

Any contact improv sessions in town that you can maybe look into? It's how Schwern got over his touch-starvation when he first moved to Portland and didn't really know anybody yet. It's also a nifty way to make friends.

Hearts, kitten love (Hitler is purring RIGHT NEXT TO ME as I type this, and it is the cutest thing evar), puppy snorfles and good wishes.

You know, I actually looked into contact improv, and I can't find anything. I'll keep looking. I was interested in this prior to touch starvation anyway.

I hear you, friend.
Tomorrow is the last day to buy a ticket.
And some part of me just wants to throw caution to the wind and go.
*sigh*
Feeling blue.
I miss you a lot.
Remember, LA is not so far away.

xo,

Aimee

Miss you too. It was really nice hanging out with you and Skye.

Maybe once I'm in the swing of things with school and have it all figured out I can come visit for a weekend or something.

Well, you get all the long-distance virtual hugs I can offer, but I realize those aren't much help. I remember having the exact same feeling at the start of college, coming down off of three years with a group of friends who lived in a constant cuddlepile and three months working with preschoolers, who transformed into a lap full of puppies every time I sat down.

As I recall, I got through it by letting the word get out that I gave haircuts, massages, and scritches. That tided me over until I made friends good enough that we'd be cuddly for non-functional purposes.

There must be a cool cuddly scene in that town somewhere. You've just got to connect with it somehow.
