I recently picked up an Apple Airport Express so I can listen wirelessly stream audio from my computer to my stereo system. Officially, this only works with iTunes. With the wonderful 3rd party software Airfoil from Rogue Amoeba, you can take audio from any application and send it off wirelessly. The lag time leads to audio and video being out ( Read more... )

You don't need to use a video LAN client because they include a video player that automatically keeps things synchronized. I think maybe that's a modified version of VLC. I don't know, whatever.

Second, if you're trying to broadcast through iTunes, are you using airfoil, or are you doing it from within iTunes? Because probably, well, I don't use Airfoil, but whenever I send anything through iTunes, i don't have a problem.

1. It's true, they do include a player that works. I like VLC better though as it gives me more control options.
2. I was doing it directly through itunes, no airfoil. Which is why I would think it should work flawlessly. But it doesn't!
