I recently Facebook friended all of my old circus friends from Portland. Looking at their pictures makes makes me....I don't know what the right word is. Wistful? Yearn? bike travails
I finally have my bike up and running again. I didn't realize how much I appreciate riding it until I had to drive for a week. I don't have a parking permit at school (mucho expensivo), so finding parking is a complete bitch. Furthermore, when parking is found, it is much further away than I can get by biking straight to my building. So driving ( Read more... ) -
Should you be able to hear a power adapter?
I'm guessing the answer is no. But if I hold the my Apple Magsafe adapter up to my ear, I definitely hear it. There's a drone with a high pitch hiss and low pitch rumble, punctuated about once per second by a lower buzz. I think there's a loose connection, because sometimes I have to jiggle the wire where it connects to the adapter. I really ( Read more... ) -

Drunkenness and grad students
So, tonight was the party at my piano teacher's house with all his piano students. It was actually really fun, and I'm happy to say that I think I now have some more friends here. What is missing in my life
I'm sitting at my desk, trying to figure out why I'm vaguely dissatisfied. I'm contemplating my growing to do list, loose ends that need taking care of. Mostly, these to do items are fairly simple. sleep experiment
I am going to try something different. I am going to get into bed at 10:00 PM. I will read a textbook for a bit, both because I need to read it for class and because I suspect it will put me to sleep. If I am asleep by 10:30, I will actually get 8 hours of sleep.
