And here it is, october 28th, and NaNo is just around the corner. I am undecided. The big pro here obviously is that I'm currently unemployed so I have time to kill. The big con is that the Warcraft expansion comes out on Nov. 13 and that's going to be a big draw. You should do it. If your life lacks creative purpose and you're not working right now it seems like a perfect time.

What is drow and Lolth. I googled lolth last time you used it and got nothing.

you got nothing? How odd. Drow are dark elves; they're subterranean and devoted to treachery & chaos. Lolth (or, alternately, Lloth) is their patron deity, who generally assumes the form of either a giant spider, or a surpassingly beautiful female drow. Think of an entire society that lives by the precepts of Machiavelli and you more or less have it -- they're primarily organised in family groupings (houses) which jockey for power; there's a strict hierarchy and the top 8 tend to run everything. Within each family this same sort of thing goes on, with family members jockeying to be the leader but trying to walk a fine line -- if you assassinate too many of your relatives, you weaken your house too much and a family beneath you in the hierarchy may take advantage of the opportunity to jump you ( ... )

I've tried snowflake. It didn't really work for me, but that seems to be because detailed pre-planning doesn't do well by me than any inherent problem with the snowflake method per se. This time I just did the ten point plot outline from Paperback Writer - it's currently up at my lj.
