( FILTERED TO A. J. CROWLEY & KLAVIER GAVIN )Mister Gavin, Crowley... I would like to ask if you feel it'd be an appropriate time for us to make good on our promise to have a drink or two. I rather feel as though I need one.

( END FILTER )
I suppose this should have been somewhat expected. It doesn't bode well to get close to people when they are ( Read more... )

Hey, what's wrong? Somebody you knew went away?

...It was Hanekoma, wasn't it.

...

[Crowley isn't sure how to feel about this. Sure, he was sad that somebody they both knew went home, but there is something else stirring in him. It almost felt like relief. It was all very strange.]

Let's go and talk about it over drinks, okay? This has been hard on you, I can tell.

There's not all that much to talk about, my dear, but I think a drink or two would do me some good.

[ What you get is a disgruntled noise. ]

Ach, I believe I could use one myself. This is a rather precarious position we're in, isn't it? Quite a pickle. Quite. A. Pickle.

[ He sighs, running a hand through his hair. ] ... One more thing. There's a boy named Alice who seemed to be affected just as bad if not worse by someone leaving as well... I'm going to personally investigate these disappearances. It seems like everyone's lost people. There has to be a reason.

... But I think you're wrong about shutting yourself out. That's never the answer; if you don't experience things, you'll simply stay miserable, ja...?

Good. I suppose it shall be arranged when Crowley is, ah... Better prepared.

[ He sighs softly and makes a muttering noise of agreement. He sounds more pained when talking about Alice. ] I know. He's staying with me now - it'd do neither of us any good to be left alone and now that Sanae is gone... Ah, he needs someone. I'm glad for the investigation.

[ He pointedly ignores the last bit. ]

... Ah. He was a good man; we'd spoken before. I liked his taste. So that's who left. ... Seeing that boy like that reminds me far too much of myself; it doesn't do anyone any good to linger, but I have a feeling he will regardless. Keep an eye on him, ja? I don't need him getting killed again--I feel bad enough that I haven't even managed to solve that much, and it's the job I do every day.

[ ... After a moment, Klavier sighs. ]

By the way, I don't recall hearing your answer to my last statement, Herr Tartan: do you plan to push everyone away? It will get you nowhere, you realize--just a lonely spot in a sea of sour notes.

He'll be well taken care of, I can assure you that, Mister Gavin. He is quite important to me as well... I won't let him suffer anymore pain. He certainly doesn't deserve it. [ and, he says to himself, that it's sort-of his job. he's an angel, he's supposed to protect people and care for them. it's more than just his nature now.

It seems that he won't be escaping that question and he acknowledges it with a soft, mournful sigh. This is too much and too hard for him to handle, his voice shaken and sad as he works up the will to respond. ]

I'll have Crowley, Mister Gavin.

Hmm... sorry, but I don't think that's true!

[Sakuya knows it might seem insensitive of her to remain cheerful even when everyone else is depressed, but... staying happy is all she can do.]

Perhaps not, but I am disinclined to believe otherwise at this moment.

Well, that's a depressing way to think! But if you really want to think that way... then I hope you change your mind one day.

Perhaps, when I am no longer mourning my loss.
