My true love bought me seven swans a-swimming in my bath tub. They don't get along with the a-laying geese. The hens needed a vacation to just get away, I can't say that I blame them. One of the birds ran away and hasn't called. The partridge family is growing.

My true love gave me six geese a-laying. I have an abundance of fowl. I wore my rings today and got mugged. The hens are still mourning. The rest of my feathered friends seem to be doing OK.

My true love gave me five golden rings today. One would have been fine. I was glad it wasn't more birds though. The calling birds still haven't said a word. I'm down to two hens. The partridge started a family with the doves. They seem happy.

My true love just handed me four calling birds. I'm beginning to notice a pattern. One of the French hens looks sick. The pear tree died and now the doves and partridge are living on my ceiling fan.

My true love sent me three hens. I think they're French, 'cause they smell. The doves live in the pear tree with the partridge now.

My true love gave me two turtle doves. I'd never heard of this species, I wonder if they'll grow shells. I still have that bird and the tree.

My true love just gave me a partridge in a pear tree. Weird. I might re-gift it.
