I've discovered, as of late, that playing poker online requires little to no skill. Oh, sure, you have to know the basics -- what makes a good hand, when to hold 'em, when to fold 'em, and all that. And now to answer your question. Say I'm sitting down at a table in Vegas, it's going to take me about four or five hands, but eventually I start to notice everyone's tells. The woman on my left brushes her index finger over the top chip on her pile when she as a good hand, the man next to her blinks rapidly when he's bluffing.
For some reason, I'm not as good at reading people when I'm not at a poker table.
