I've spent so much time inside my own head lately that I've almost forgotten how to converse with other people. I dodge phone calls and delete voicemails without listening to them first. I think one of the best sounds in the world is hearing your child say your name or whatever version of "Daddy" they come up with. Even if they have no idea what the hell they're saying. Just let them drool and smile.

I don't think there are words in the English language that can accurately describe the way it feels. She first said it about two weeks ago, and I spent the entire first day finding ways to cajole her to say it again.
