Help?

I had an appointment at the tattoo studio tonight for them to touch up the foot tattoo I had gotten done in the summer. It took about 10 to 15 minutes, so nothing like last time's two hour session. Yet, obviously the parts that needed to be re-done were the most painful ones because at one point during the last session especially those areas were ( Read more... )

What about doing some exercises on a balance ball while your foot heals? There might be enough variety in what you can do - and if you focus on your core - that it'd be easy on your foot and you wouldn't lose your routine.

Ooooh, I hadn't thought about that! That's a brilliant idea. I don't have a balance ball but I'm sure I can work something out with a chair. Good idea. :D

I was going to suggest swimming...but I don't know if you have anything keeping your tattoo covered?

I was going to suggest swimming too. I was fine getting my tattoo wet fairly soon but it was ordinary bath water and not chlorine.

I'm fine with getting the tattoo wet and also washing it with neutral soap. No chlorine or extended baths though. :(

I don't - and I believe that covering the foot is rather difficult so that it sticks. :(

would doing situps/crunches be possible? you could rest your feet on something and just work out your abs and stomach that way.

or you could focus on toning your arms by lighting small weights - you definitely wouldn't need to stress your feet that way :D

Yes, I'll have to do something like that. I dug out my old Pilates exercises book and it turns out that I can do some of their arms, shoulders, belly, etc. workouts without having to stress the foot too much. YAY!

I suggest doing some exercises using small hand weights... surprisingly little is needed to tone those arms a bit. You could work with resistance bands too. Work your abs, do chair exercises? Sucks when you're force out of your routine. Getting it going really is the hardest part.

It is! Getting started is so hard. :(

As I said above, I realized that I can do old parts of my pilates routine. I didn't work out on Thursday or Friday because the foot was just really tender. Now it's all about getting back into the routine. Meep!
