Another proof that Inception is growing up. The 4th Wall.

In a way it's strangely reassuring that some things never change, no matter which fandom you're hanging out in. Apparently, someone posted Arthur/Eames fanart (sort of the NSFW-kind-of too) at hitRECord. (hitRECord is JGL's collaborative production company that he originally founded with his late brother ( Read more... )

I simply cannot understand the thought process that leads someone to doing something like that. I MEAN SERIOUSLY. I just. Cannot comprehend. :O

Me neither. It's so obviously a bad idea that I just... I got nothing. How on earth did you think your favorite actor/musician/sportsman would appreciate you shoving graphic porn about them in their face? It's so extremely unacceptable that I can't even begin to comprehend how someone would not think about it for a second and ask themselves "Would I like that if I were in their position?!"

Like, REALLY?!

Maybe they are of the opinion that 'any attention is good attention' even if it's the actor eg. getting a restraining order or something. D:

Yeah, maybe. After all, the actor acknowledged them. ;)

People are crazy! I mean, if for some reason that person wanted to show how talented fans could be, that was NOT the art they should've chosen. Not at all!

Exactly. From an artistic POV, I think the fanart is really pretty and really well done, but FANART based on the website creator's most recent movie? Gosh, I don't KNOW?!

(Besides, I'm not even sure how it fits in with HitRECord's rule of only original content. I know that cover songs aren't allowed. Not sure how original fanart is considered.)

This is just awkward!

I don't know how that site works, does JGL comment on the things posted there?

I think he does occasionally.

The way the site works is basically that users upload little things they created or use something someone else created to create something new. Users can also love and recommend certain creations and I think the most popular ones get featured. There might be a chance he hasn't seen that fanart (yet), but still, it's just incredibly awkward.

Now I'm curious: what turtle scene? O__O

Trying to black this out in case someone doesn't wanna hear. I found it really, really disturbing.

There's a scene where Brian's Dad nearly runs over a big turtle with his car. The family takes it home and later Brian has to step/stand on the shell for it to stick out its head. The father then kills it by cutting off the head. But Brian doesn't put enough weight on the shell so the animal keeps struggling and it's not a clean cut, i. e. the turtle doesn't die right away.

They later eat it.

I found the whole thing extremely gross and disturbing. :(

Apparently not! And even when people pointed out to them how inappropriate it was, they simply said "but it's ARTHUR not JOE!" Duh.

Alas I've meddled in some fandoms where the fans would throw NSFW fanart and stuff on the stage be all proud when the artist picked up the card (probably thinking it was just a nice note) and made O.O eyes.
Ew. DNW. :(
