Thank you, Wendy! I think for tomorrow I'll go ahead with a recipe from the WW site. It should give me the points for that at least. It's just unusual for me to plan ahead.
I'm not sure I'll continue going because the meetings might just not be for me. But I thought I shouldn't judge after just one meeting.
Good luck, hon. The program info can be a bit over-whelming. I still don't have a handle on the new points system. But after about three weeks it'll become second nature, you'll have the info on the foods you eat regularly memorized and you won't need to refer to the materials all the time.
It's just a lot of information to begin with, you know? But I totally agree, once you've got a hang on the food you eat most often, everything else will fall into place. I think for this first week, I'll go with recipes from the WW site before I attempt putting something together myself.
Sorry for just randomly jumping in through friends' friends, but I wanted to say yay you and mention my own experience with Weight Watchers. (Out of RL, I've read and commented on your stories in the past.) I actually lost 75 pounds doing both the meetings and the online stuff: I liked the accountability of the meetings (if not all the groupthink and obsession that sometimes happened), but I loved the online tracking tool so much! Guesstimating points would have never worked for me, and I couldn't be bothered actually doing the math, you know? But with the online tracker, you just select your food, and they *tell* you how many points it is. Perfect for lazy folk like me

I've decided to get a Month Pass that allows me to go to the weekly meetings but also use the online tools. The online tools are FANTASTIC! Like you said, it's so easy to plan your day and calculate points. It's really, really comfortable. I'll have to keep testing the meetings, maybe try a different meeting if I end up not liking the one I go to. I've been doing WW for a few days now and I find it surprisingly easy. I make several smart choices and I still get enough food during the day and can even have some of the things I really like. It's a great program.
Wow, go you for losing so much! Have you kept off most of it? Are you still doing the program by yourself?
I do Weight Watchers. I did it two years ago and lost over 40 pounds. Then, I began to hate my job and ate my pain and gained ALL of it back. My bad though. I think it's a good system with realistic expectations built in. They allow you to plan to splurge here and there, and you don't have to completely give up something (like Adkins makes you). Instead, you can plan ahead and save your points or increase your activity for a few days and no be completely derailed by the splurge

Oh man, that sucks about gaining it all back! I'm like that too. When I'm stressed or unhappy, then I EAT really badly.
I've really liked what I've seen of the program so far. Basically, all it takes is a few smart choices and you can do it without huge sacrifices. It starts with swapping a full-fat cream with soy cream and voila, you still can eat your favorite dish or a glass of wine in the evening.
I liked the coach enough, but you're right, maybe I need to try different meetings to find my perfect meeting.
When she was talking about being able to eat a banana for the first time in 15 years with Points Plus, she explained that she'd always avoided them before because who wants to spend 3 points on a banana when you can have a cookie. Now with the ProPoints, she can have all the bananas she wants. Speaking of cookies though, I found a WW recipe for mini cookies that I'll try. I LOVE cookies and the fact that I'll still be able to eat them excites me to no end.
I know that the first couple of weeks in WW, I was REALLY

I'm so glad you liked the meeting more than you expected. I never wanted to go but always ended up finding them so motivating.
