I already shared the good news on Twitter the other day, but I just wanted to repeat it here for those who don't follow me there: my US visa petition has finally been approved by the USCIS and I should be receiving all the paperwork by Friday or Monday and then next Tuesday I'll be headed to my local US embassy for the visa interview. I am so ( Read more... )

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay! Great to hear everything has finally worked itself out! *twirls you around and around*

Though, you know, about 99% of your flist will now hit you up for a place to stay when they're in the Big Apple... *coughs*Me!*coughs* ;-)

And Weight Watchers seems to be amazing! o.O I have to admit that I'm rather skeptical towards all these diet things (Atkins, WW, whatever else...) because of the yo-yo effect, but wow, 12,2 kg? o.O

at this beautiful hotel at the German North Sea

May I ask which hotel this was? It sounds lovely! ^-^

And good luck with everything, working the newbie in and the London trip and your move preparations and finding a place in NY! *squishes you and sends you lots of energy*

Thanks, darling! I'm incredibly relieved.

Ahaha. I might not have room for everybody at once but every now and then, I should be able to accomodate a guest. Just let me know. :)

I'm very skeptical toward diets too, believe me! I've been on enough to know very much about this yo-yo effect you speak of. I feel like WW is different because it's not a diet per sé. You're supposed to change the way you eat until the rest of your life. It's not about reaching your UGW (ultimate goal weight) and then going back to burger and fries and coke. You have to stick with it. The reason why I think this will work is because the program is flexible enough that it allows you to still be social and eat "bad" foods every once in a while. Unlike a diet, you can still eat burger and fries every once in a while or drink alcohol, you'll just have to learn when and how to make smart choices to accomodate the little sins. (As opposed to a Brigitte Diät or Atkins or Kohlsuppe or whatever.)

I was at Hotel Resort Strandgut in St. Peter Ording. It wasn't quite ( ... )

Thank you! It really is awesome. :D I'm just so relieved that it's finally happening and that things are moving forward.

I still can't believe that it really IS that much. 12 kg. Wow. I sometimes forget how far along I've come because I'm seeing myself every day. You tend to lose perspective then. But people have been telling me I've come a long way. :)
