Hey,
Man, all this pink valentines day crap makes me feel... icky.

I mean sure, it's great for all you non-single people, with all the presents, dinners and sexing it up, but for the rest of us, today is nothing but a reminder that, in society's eyes anyway, you need to be in a relationship to be happy. Their latest two albums In Absentia and Deadwing are both fucking awesome. I got the live DVD recently too. Its the most awesome-ist thing ever :)
And yeah as for the third thing there, its cool. He's not well. I dont think he'll be coming back any time soon so its ok.

On your rant: I totally agree about the realtionship thing, I wrote an entry about it a couple of years back. I think it's unhealthy the way society views marriage as if it's a promotion. People see it as a step up in the quality of their life (like buying a house or a car) instead of just a change in the way you live your life. Marriage is good and all but in the end you don't need it to be happy.

I completely and utterly agree with your rant and would also like to add this: Why do most people only do/buy nice things for their partners on anniversaries and valentines day? Shouldn't every day feel special. It just shat me off to see all those tarts with their mini skirts riding up their arses parading around with boxes of flowers and roses (never chocolate though.) and now rings and necklaces and shit.
And shit man, I hope you're okay.
