Southland

This weekend, the producers of Southland spilled that Tom Everett Scott’s character does survive his gunshot wound. Look for the show to explore the psychological impact of the shooting on Scott’s character.

Okay, that's just plain wrong to follow up with one, but not the other ( ... )

I agree, I cannot believe that they based the entire premise of the premier on the fact that Ben had to kill someone on the very first day, and then threw their goldmine away when they decided not to follow up on it at all. Oh the sub-plots, the emotional plots, the family ties, the family problems, all the juicy storylines that they could have explored...gone and forgotten and we got nothing! Now we have to move on hoping to get a few gaps filled in by flashback, which we probably will not get anyway ( ... )

Ouch. That poor "Dawned" premise, just abandoned and discarded when it had so much promise, so much to offer, and was just waiting to provide very compelling plots and sub-plots. It was the perfect way to explore Ben's character and introduce the wider circle with anyone who encompassed his orbit. That would have started with the people he worked with, especially those who were also involved in the shooting, and then widened to the extended, broken family. I'm still hoping, or clinging to hope that there will be a way to revisit some of it. Even introducing an I.A. officer who interviewed Ben (friendly, objective or threatening) would reveal a lot. Then there's "therapist #1/real therapist." Who retires so suddenly? How about tying up some loose ends? No wonder Ben asked those questions about getting shot/hostage situation ( ... )

While I sort of knew this was true anyway, might I ask that anything that is posted of a spoiler nature go under LJ cuts? I'm
really, really trying, for once in my life, to remain unspoiled where SouthLAnd is concerned. Thanks very much.

No, I know it's impossible to remain totally spoiler-free. I think that's part of what eventually ruined The OC for me.

This was sort of proactive in case you were gonna go heavy duty on the spoilers and I can't help but see them as I breeze through. Thanks -I really appreciate it.

LOL, actually it's funny because I am notoriously terrible at getting around to posting anything in my journal, so I guess my timing was bad (for spoiling with spoilers anyway!). I only put the last two posts in my journal because I didn't see them on Ben Support or Southland_tv, but since I have inadvertently duplicated a post before, I didn't want to make that mistake again in case I just overlooked the postings somehow. That's why I put them in my journal!

But have no fear, like I said I hardly ever post to my journal! Good luck remaining spoiler free though...sounds like quite a challenge in this day and age!

I actually love to read everything and anything I can get my hands on, but I know some fans like to be surprised! Thanks again!
