Love Is Blind, But I'm Not (chap. 5)

“Sungmin-shii, are you enjoying the moments that we spent together?” a sudden curious question popped out of the blind man’s mouth.

“Why’d you ask? Are you bored with me?”

“Omo~Sungmin-shii! That sounds way too cheeky!” Sungmin giggled, and hugged Kyuhyun’s broad shoulders. Kyuhyun smiled, and ruffled his short orange hair, and he purred a bit.

Just like a cat,’ and this was in Kyuhyun’s mind.
They have been hanging out together for about four month now, but Kyuhyun felt as if there’s something more than just a hang-out-buddy with Sungmin that he want.

“Sungmin-shii, what we are doing right now, is hanging out, right?”

“Right.”

“We do it every weekend, right?”

“Right. Since you told me that you don’t want to be set-up for blind dates by you unnies.” And I’m glad that I helped.

“Yeah, right. Thanks to you, I’m free every weekend.” Sungmin lifted up his head.

“Free, as in a good way, or a bad way?” Kyuhyun chuckled as he realised that his tones before could be confusing this innocent sweet man.

“Of course in a good way! I mean, I did told you, didn’t I? Its tiring me, dating with strangers like that.”

“Ah, right, right. Why’d you asked me all this, out of the blue?” Kyuhyun patted his hand on the sheet they were sitting at, looking for something.

“What are you searching for?” Sungmin was dumbfounded.

“You.”

Without Sungmin’s own notice, his face turned red, pinkish red. As if his ears were planted near his chest, he could hear his own heartbeat rushing, and his breath were suffocating.

“I want to hold your hand, Sungmin-shii.” He gave his hand without any words, but he turned his face away from looking at Kyuhyun, for he just afraid if his heart would burst at that time, and die before he could hear what Kyuhyun wanted to tell him.

And that would be simply a waste.

“I want to hold it forever like this, without any walls between it. I can’t do it, if what we’re doing now is just hanging out.”

“Should I  sew my hands into yours, then?” shyly, Sungmin gave a sarcastic comment, that made Kyuhyun laugh, loudly.

“Let just call our meetings after this a date, will you?” and without any later words, Sungmin packed up their things, fit them into his car trunk, shoved Kyuhyun into the car, as he too, did the same to himself.

“How did you...” a sudden hug folded, and Sungmin’s tears fell onto Kyuhyun’s white shirt. And the embrace returned.

“How can you read me so easily, when you can’t see? I’m trying hard to read you, and understand just a little about you, but you? You read me like a book.”

“I see you, because I wanted to.”

A kiss was sealed, and a word that melted both their hearts exchanged.

“Sarang-hae.”

Siwon put down the forms on the table in front of him, and glanced at Kyuhyun, who seemed unwavering at all.

“I’m saying this nicely; you better do it, brat.”

“I would love to, but living more than half of my age with this darkness as my view, don’t you think there’ll be troubles with it?” unknowingly, Siwon smacked his face with the cushion that he has been held on to since Kyuhyun started his rejection to the chance.

The hospital where they registered Kyuhyun’s name a few years ago have found a suitable donor for him, and that could be said as a chance, one in a million. Well, for average citizen like them. And the problem? Kyuhyun didn’t want to leave the darkness around him.

“And what was that for, you crazy hyung!!”

“I...I wasn’t there to protect you.” Siwon left out a sigh. Kyuhyun didn’t get what he meant. “What?”

“I wasn’t there when you’re blind for good. I wasn’t there for you. If only I didn’t had a fight with umma that day, and left the house, I would’ve taken you to the baseball practice, and get you out of the danger.” A silence sobs were heard.

“Hyung, that’s not your fault. We can’t read the future, you know.” Kyuhyun slid his body next to where Siwon was seating.

“I’m sorry, that this sounds like selfish. But please, lift this burden from me. I’ve doned you a lot, but you still treat me as your hyung. At the very least, let me do something for you.” And his tears could be felt, as it fell onto Kyuhyun’s lap.

“Hyung, it’s not your fault, it just I’m destined to be like this. Please stop crying. It’s ugly you know?”

And a smack hit his shoulder. Kyuhyun smiled.

“I’m sorry, Kyu.”

“Don’t be.”

***

“So, you’re gonna be hospitalize, again?” Yesung asked him, even when he already got the news from Siwon when he dropped Kyuhyun at the vocal lesson. All of a sudden, Ryeowook’s head sticked out between them.

“What? Why? When?” his thin lips didn’t know when to stop, until Yesung grabbed him at the back of his head and smooched his talkative lips.

“You shouldn’t interfere with others’ talk, y’know?” and as if he was flying, he flipped his hands, up and down, walked away from the scene, smiling.

“And where were we?” Kyuhyun laughed as Yesung's voice were as steady as before.

“Hyung, you’re mean.”

***

And so his last lesson before he will be warded again was done. Kyuhyun was waiting for Siwon when Sungmin called.

“Hello, Kyu-shii? Where are you now?”

“Ah~Sungmin-shii? Just finished my vocal lessons. What’s wrong?” Sungmin’s usually cheerful voice was sored this time.

“I...I want to see you. Can I come?”

“Well, okay. I’ll wait at the entrance. But I’ve got to tell my brother first.”

“Okay.”

Click. Seconds later, a ringtone that told him it was Siwon who’s calling came up.

“Ah, hyung! I’m just about to call you just now. Sungmin, my friend are picking me up, so you don’t have to...”

“Kyu...” Siwon’s voice sounds deppressed too.

Just why does everyone is unhappy today?
