I've never heard this area referred to as central iowa. I've heard it more frequently called northeast Iowa.

but really, it's a matter of opinion, as there are no established boundries between such regions. hehe

Yeah, I concur with Jay--central Iowa to me is Des Moines, Ames...we're in Eastern or North-Eastern Iowa. :)

We in the Quad Cities stake the claim on Eastern Iowa, so you have to be North-Eastern Iowa.We in the Quad Cities stake the claim on Eastern Iowa, so you have to be Northeastern Iowa. *grin*

Oh, pish posh!

After living in CENTRAL Iowa, there was nothing I wanted to get back to more than EASTERN Iowa, and there's a pretty big East coast. :p

Coffeehouse gigs... virgofolkie April 1 2005, 22:18:39 UTC
Congratulations on the gig!! I did my first coffeehouse gig in a long time here in Seattle on March 15, at Mr. Spot's Chai House--two whole one-hour sets! It was lots of fun, especially after a bunch of artist friends of mine came in partway through the first set, and stayed for the duration. So I had this small core audience, along with a bunch of other folks who came and went, in typical casual-coffeehouse fashion. That place also does not charge a cover, but I did get tips, free food and drinks, etc., not to mention a good experience in indoor gigs, exposure, and all that. Of course, I have to keep doing this, in order to really get known among clubs, coffeehouses, etc. Meanwhile, I'm still playing outside as often as I can around here...

Anyway, hope your gig went well, and hope it's not too cold and stormy out there in the corn belt..
