I need to have a t-shirt made that says MIXTAPE BOMBFATHER. That made me laugh really hard.

I so went and bought this CD after you made that post raving about it and I'm so glad I did. And yes, I can't stop listening to Orchid. Incredibly beautiful.

just listened to that album this weekend. Overall I liked it. There were a few songs that I didn't like. The tequila song for instance. Just stupid.

My favorite song had something about violence in the title. LOVED that song and replayed it like 6 times while i laid out by the pool.

Versions of Violence. yeah it really rocked me at first too. kinda grown more towards the sweeter sides, but VoV and Moratorium were both like "whoa dark" moments.

On the Tequila i think was probably when they did My Humps. she was trying to not have a blood-sweat-tears song and just have goofy fun with the process. i think she tries to cram a bit too much lyrically but it reminds me of a breezy Janet Jackson style interlude or hidden track. definitely better left as a b-side, but i'm really gutted she didn't put Orchid and the Guy Who Leaves on the album and make the tracklist hit 13. they would've both fit awesomely i think.

glad you got it though! i don't expect her to like max out the charts or whatever, but it's exciting that people are listening to her again and finding her at least a bit relevant.

lol i love your posts.... I've just been noticing a lot of what you write about lately is similar to my own tastes/preferences about the same things :P. I totally love the new alanis cd (duh), and I loved cloverfield even though I heard nothing but bad reviews that made it sound like an 80's B movie.

The only song I don't love yet is Straightjacket. Although I think I just hate the beginning...up until she says fucking disrespect.

I really wish Orchid, Madness and The guy who leaves were left on the album. Damn her short attention span =/!

i esp agree. not so big on Madness and i think it would've clunked the album a bit like This Grudge, but def Orchid and Guy who Leaves... i really wish she would've put them both on and had it at 13.

Straitjacket took me a minute but i love it now. i really love how slick and dark the production is.. even though the chorus is uptempo and superpop it still has that dark vorpal swooshing feeling.

give me strength and discipline to get some shit done today! :)
