When Fraser's sentry shift ended, he remained at the Consulate only long enough to change out of his dress reds and collect Diefenbaker, as well as the ficus he had promised Ray. Ray's busy picking through his movies when he hears the knock and he goes to the door still carrying three video tapes.

"What d'ya think, Frase? The Cincinnati Kid, The Great Escape or ..." He shuffles through the movies without looking up. "Hell is for Heroes?"

Fraser smiled. "The first, I think. I don't know that I'm prepared to face the gestapo this evening."

He had to duck slightly and carefully angle the ficus as he stepped through the door. It was quite tall.

"Good pick." Ray dumped the other two movies uncermoniously on the counter, then finally looked up at the Mountie.

"Oh, hey, here ... um ..." He took the beer and pizza from Fraser, then gestured at the floor. "Put the tree wherever."

Nodding, Fraser deposited the plant in the nearest corner, and the milk carton on the counter. He had once found the milk in Ray's refrigerator to be suspect.

"Constable Turnbull sends his regards." As well as an impossible long lecture on the care and feeding of the noble ficus, but Fraser had assured him that 'collect water, pour in' would not exceed Ray's grasp.

"It's good to see you, Ray." He smiled again, if only to make up for his stone-faced day. "Did your day go well?"

Diefenbaker sniffed around the shrub for a moment, then padded over to the couch and settled in entitledly.
