It was an honor to be taught by you

Yes, that's what one of my best students told me this morning, I was completely disconcerted so I just bowed like a Japanese and answered 'it has been an honor to teach to him' and I meant it. That guy has a golden heart and is smart like two. Teaching can't be just crap, you know! I also told to few students I had last year (grade 9) that I would ( Read more... )

I was surprised how few kids said "thank you" to me ... especially with real though behind. maybe two? three? they take it all for granted... it's said.

I had fun and yes, we don't get many thanks and that makes those we receive very precious!

OMG it's only now that I've read again what I wrote I see how many mistakes and typos I had! I hope I was really tired when I was writing it, there is not excuse to confuse "said" with "sad" and similar :D

I am glad you had fun :)

Every time a kid says thank you for teaching me, you know you have reached a place they didn't know they had and it is good! It happens so rarely, though.

The bug is called a no-see-um and they were vicious today, and they do not respond to repellents. The black fly is also in full force, slightly larger and more annoying although not so apt to leave you bleeding.

Awww, this is such a nice thing to say. It's cool he did - often people just don't mention it. Feel honoured! :)

I like being at the countryside way more than in the city. City is OK, but once I'm in a better job, I'm back to some small village I think.

Good luck with the village, the phraising is unusual and I think it is more the style of the boy than the country side, I've never got that formal praising since I've been teaching in the sububan let alone in the city! :)
