Interesting. From what I can understand, what makes this story unique is the ability of the superheroes to turn back into regular human beings (including some of the villains), and in the face of a natural disaster, it's that in-ability that made the Ventriloquist into a villain, even going as far as to give him a different identity.

Yes, if you remember from the last Batman movie, Katie Holmes' character tells Bruce Wayne that when he left, it was only Batman who came back, in a way, telling him how he lost his humanity. This comic book was Bruce Wayne's redemption, where the greatest fight in his life is the inner one... hope this helps... I may just be blowing smoke out of my behind, since I haven't read too much of the comic.

*head pops* Seriously, that was inspired. I gave my speech tonight, the theme I went with was the parralels between the various alteregos of DC superheroes and how they were expressed in a disaster situation.

Now, go out and get the book! ;-)
