Yesterday, after an interesting active weekend, I woke about 4.30am, after getting to sleep about midnight. tossed and turned for ab out half an hour and then got up about 5. Last night I’d returned from work, had dinner and was in the living room when the doorbell went. It was being pressed in a crazy sort of way, over and over with urgency. Monday morning, back at work since last Tuesday. I’ve been off sick, or working from home. Actually my first time off sick this year, although I’m never more than a phone call or e-mail away from the office, so you could easily say I was working from home.

So, the warning light was coming on when I started the engine, “Drivers side parking light has failed”, then when driving, you get this really annoying indicator in the middle of the rev counter, a sort of light bulb picture, just to remind you.

My ‘work’ jeans needed washing last night, but I didn’t get in till ten, at which point I had to help the girl with the washing up. As I don’t like to put jeans in the dryer,  I decided to Iron them dry instead. Denim is a pia to dry this way btw. Anyways, they were _mostly_ dry when I finished at about eleven thirty. A Sudanese woman who is due to appear in court in Khartoum says she faces up to 40 lashes for wearing trousers.

The woman, Lubna Hussein - a former journalist who now works for the United Nations - has invited journalists and observers to the trial.
