Well, I guess this means I'll have to post more, at least for the next two months, eh? Not a problem at the moment, actually: I need to talk about AFP, and I have a story and possibly some pics to post. So, that'll be good for a few days, at least ( Read more... )

I think it had less to do with wanting to go to Newark than with NOT wanting to meet me in New York.

Yes, it is as you say. I had enough trouble finding the train station proper from the platform. Probably best that I didn't try to go the whole way up to the city.

You do realize that your recollections of our trip back to NJ make it sound like you're on drugs, right?

Yeah, I think some of my co-workers were definitely wondering about me on Monday morning.

Well, to be fair, my facebook statuses for weeks have been all about going to New York. I figured if you were gonna be free you woulda said something, and I didn't want to ask because I wasn't really sure where we were going to be at what time, you know? But I did think about you a lot throughout the day.

I was...pretty much overwhelmed. I mean, also I was sleep deprived and had sore feet, but mostly I was overwhelmed. He looks a bit younger and less homeless in person, I think.

“Strangely, the train goes one way until it hits Philly, and then goes the other way up to New York. Which meant I travelled backward for 2 hours, stopped at Philly, and then travelled forward the rest of the way. Odd and unnecessary, but this is why I am not an adviser for the train system ( ... )

No, I mean it goes backwards to Philly, and then forwards the rest of the way up. Or, like, forwards and then backwards, depending upon which way your seat's facing. Like, the train's actually oriented in the opposite direction. The engine moves to the other end or something. So if you stay in the same seat and ride the whole way, you'll be going half forwards and half backwards. It certain struck me as odd when I realized what was going on.

We weren't at the same Lush you and I went to. This one is 2165 Broadway. *shrug* That address actually means nothing to me, but on the receipt it's listed as Upper West Side, so that's what I'm going with.

I really had no idea where we were most of the time. Jackie would occasionally try to be helpful and show me a map, until I made her stop because that was actually making my confusion worse :-P

(embarrassed expression on face)

ps love love love your detailed description of the food/restaurants in NYC- another case in point why nyc is the greatest is because of the restuarants. ANOTHER reason why i hate tcnj is because junior year ('06) i was hanging out with people )who i promptly STOPPED hanging out with in 2007 and said something about how wonderful-amazingly delectable and decadent the restuarants are- and the guy had the audacity to make the "oh holy shit, run as far away from this girl as you can as quickly as possible-- abort abort abort and run away far far away without looking back over your shoulder'

:-(

and people wonder why i am depressed and out of work and the whole 9 yards.
