To be entirely honest, I get the impression that it depends a lot on what Mike and Steve want, at least as far as I'm concerned.

I think Mike said that because he knows that I want to thesis with him because I like him, and he feels like I should be thesising with Steve because Steve is better at what I want to do. The more I think about it though the more I feel like I really would just prefer to thesis with Mike regardless. We'll see though.

Yeah, that's the impression I got too -- that what they want is more important. That's okay. I'd be pretty happy with any of the professors, I think (I feel more comfortable with Emma after Renn Fayre, ha!)
