I have to say, it was quite fun using the tools in Ezra's studio.. especially the ones for metalworking. In another life, I think I'd have been very happy as a blacksmith.

Dude! I'll bet they do! What are they making? Have the crazy antics of Weta Workshop revitalized a cottage industry in wrought iron and steel?

Unfortunately, I flew out last Saturday. You can still say hi to Ezra and his new bride, though!

Otherwise, how're things?

they make like, awnings and fences and stuff like that. i'm sure there are other, more inventive things going on, but those were examples that marcelo gave. he seemed to really like it though.

things are fine. job. house. boyfriend. dog. cat. etc.

how are you?

I'm good: job. apartment. girlfriend. roommate.

Plenty of work and side projects to keep me occupied (though no metal working, it must be said).

Finally bought a bunch of tickets for shows at the University Theater: Japanese Taiko drumming, Russian Acrobats, etc. Unfortunately, I was too late to get Itzchak Perlman or Yoyoma and The Silk Road Ensemble tickets (they probably sold out immediately), but I'm holding out hope that the scalpers will have a few..

Oh, and my 25th birthday, and 6 month anniversary with my girlfriend are the same weekend. That's going to be fun!

My in-laws laugh at us, because whenever we visit, we bring down-filled comforters. Their house is FREEZING because they're frugal with gas (and live in Cleveland, which is, you know, tropical anyway), and all they have for blankets are really old "thermal" things or equally old crocheted afghans.

They weren't stingy with the blankets.. I was just too tired to notice the pile they'd left on the couch until 2am or so. So that part was entirely my fault.

On the other hand, I stand by my statement that air-matresses suck.
