hey kiddo...way to slack off on the punctuation front in my absence! :p I haven't been writing/reading LJ for the past (more than) several months now, cuz a) don't have shit to write, but mainly (with regard to reading, anyway) b) it hurts to stand in one place too long, hence I'm only online a coupla times a week. basically been reading, doing physical therapy (mixed results), and trying to get new contact lenses that actually work (more mixed results). boohoo, so on and so forth--that's muh story. how you been livin' ma'am? your eyes are healed by now, I hope?
Not much more to tell at present, but here's a quote for you (hope ya like it) that's been stuck in my head lately, from Dashiell Hammett (author of The Maltese Falcon, etc):
"I don't let cops and judges tell me what democracy is." (During his questioning by the HUAC.) (What a lovable hardboiled jaded sometimes-Stalinist lush!)
