I played today at this sandwich shop in downtown Cincinnati, and I made $8 in tips over an hour and a half, which is a fortune, considering it was downtown at lunchtime. I saw the whole original version of Lèon tonight. It's much better than the cut version ("The Professional"). Chalk the deleted scenes up to American prudishness. This version was so much better, in fact, that Gary Oldman's scenery-chewing was less annoying, because there was more quality film to balance out the shit ( Read more... )

This evening in the bookdrop, I got "The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind" along with a book called "Why People Believe Weird Stuff." I thought that was pretty funny.

I played at harmony hill winery Saturday night, and it worked out pretty well. Everyone had fun and I made almost $100 in tips. Four hours is a lot of playing, but with breaks between sets and pausing to introduce various songs, it's not that bad. My voice didn't tire out until the last set, which surprised me.
