I need a little bit of advice cause I think it would be a good idea for me to have my own website to put photos / creations on, especially for next year when I'm going to need to be showing my work to a lot of people and using an online portfolio will certainly be more convenient for photographer and viewer alike ( Read more... )

I would recommend www.doteasy.com, that's where my site is hosted. A .net domain name costs you about £20 every 2 years and you get 100mb of space, which is ample for storing pictures. xx

Edukators looks awful...

See Bullet boy instead.

Yes, I am doing the same thing. Get a "web savvy" person to help.

Unless you are picky about names you prbably won't have to pay...

You can register a domain name for a year, providing it's not taken, at http://www.godaddy.com. It's $8.95 per year for a .com or a .org or a .net.
(If you want a .co.uk its $9.98 for two years.)
Or most webhosting sites offer a domain registering service.
I use http://www.netrillium.net and whereas it may seem more pricey than other
hosts, the support is really good - unlike the host I used for my first site who ripped me off.
You upload files to your site using an ftp program (I use http://www.coffeecup.com/free-ftp/ because it's free ;)
I hope this helps!
Right now I'm in the process of designing a photography portfolio website for lorretta at ( ... )

Yeah I really like your design, although I don't have a lot of money to pay you I might ask for some tips here and there. I'm not really bothered about it being (insert domain name).com or .org or whatever...what does being hosted by someone else involve?
Thanks x
