Back from the Dead... Again

A masterful illusion. Even I was completely taken in. Though I have to say I'm not too thrilled about it happening.

I can't say I'm not glad it did turn out to be an illusion, though. I wasn't looking forward to seeing the Demonweb again - Lolth can't have been too pleased with my absence ( Read more... )

Particularly by a certain shitennou, princess, and goddess. And as I'm sure you've noticed that a certain irritating weight on your wrist is gone would've been nice if my finger had come back when I did, that would certainly not end well for me.

Be thankful it was. Trust me, you don't want something like that to turn out to be real.

Then again, maybe it was real, and there is life after death - the same one there was before death. But I'm trying to mix philosophy and humor, which never works well even when both the teller and the audience haven't suffered recent serious emotional trauma.

Well...I'm just glad everyone's alright. No one was harmed...well, for the moment. With the Keepers being in charge of the compound now...undisposed to killing anyone at any moment...

There has to be something we can do. I'm not sure what exactly right now, but...there has to be something. Whether it's finding a way to rescue the Warden or help protect the others...there must be something.

The Keepers don't truly pose a threat unless we try to escape - and without the cuffs, they're much less likely to misinterpret, say, a spell that draws on other planes as an escape attempt. So I ought to be able to cast more powerful spells without them going awry...

What we truly need to be worried about is the occasional resident who decides that a lack of cuffs is free license to go on a killing spree. I'm fairly decent at abjuration spells - it's more or less a survival skill in drow society - but I doubt I could protect everyone in the compound at once.

Why do you ask?

Because as much as we despise each other, there are far too few people fast enough to burn my head off in the compound for me to bicker with.

Well, you may say that.

But don't think I'm not keeping an eye on you, and or have forgiven you. Unlike most that know you, I'm fully aware of how innocent you are NOT.

Think what you wish, Princess.

Of course you do know I can't just refer to you as "Princess" anymore, don't you? It turns out my roommate is one as well.
