Being the Secretary of Defense afforded him many luxuries, but he was a busy man who rarely got to see his grandchild. So he generously offered to watch the boy at the park while Marilyn finished grocery shopping. The boy looked just like Peter: same dark hair, same smile. He was smart and mature for his age
.
But horribly in love with one of the old baseballs that Peter had as a boy and when it rolled into the street he went with it. There were cars everywhere and a dimwitted Taxi driver was about to kill the boy until he disappeared into thin air.
He supposed he should be proud of the accomplishment, the boy did successfully cross over.

Amelia had always wanted a sibling. Sure she had the coolest cousin ever, Ella was great. But she lived in Chicago and they only saw each other during the summer or whenever her parents needed to go to Chicago. So she hoped and prayed for a sibling but it never came.
Until the day that it did.
It started like any other day. She got up, started the coffee for her parents and finished her homework until Daddy would come down the stairs, yawning and make her breakfast. So she slid down the banister (it didn’t count as naughty unless Mommy was watching) and skidded to a stop at their breakfast nook.
Where a little boy was eating her Captain Crunch.
She screamed. He screamed.
Mommy and Daddy came running down the stairs and she stopped because her Mommy and Daddy could handle anything.
“If you finished the puzzle on the back of the box I will be very upset with you.” Amelia pouted, grabbing the box from him and pouring herself a bowl.
“Mommy why is your hair yellow?” The boy finally speaks up around bites of her Captain Crunch.
“Her hair is always yellow like mine.” Amelia gave a dramatic fluff of her hair like Aunt Rachel always did. “Mommy’s hair is yellow, mine is yellow, Auntie Rachel’s is yellow and so is my cousin Ella’s. Walter says it’s because of genetics which means families are the same.”
“Auntie Rachel died-”
And then he disappeared.
