I’m disappointed. And I never thought I’d say anything like that about a film with Johnny Depp.... But that’s  probably Tim Burton’s fault..... He makes films that I either love or.... hate. This film certainly had huge potential which got almost totally wasted. For one thing it could have been another story like Les Visiteurs with Jean Reno. The

Ouch! Ookay, Dark Shadows wasn't on my "must have seen it on big screen"-list (I'm still disappointed about "Alice in the Wonderland"). Usually I like Burton-movies but the last ones turned out not quiet well. Seems like he is in some troubles with his visions ;).
Mh, maybe I will give it a try but I'm sure I will wait to the DVD-release.

Yeah.... I did find Dark Shadows disappointing. BUT I liked Alice in Wonderland very much indeed! :)

aww crap hoping it would be good because I adore Johnny but I kind of suspected...not a huge Tim Burton fan...grrr

Tim Burton's films make me either WOW in amazement or scream in disappointment.... oh and SORRy for my late reply :)

There are people who liked it a lot I just happened not to be one of them.... still, you can give it a try and see what it does for you. :)

I guess I am not surprised by your entry..........I read an article recently, forget what forum, where it said that the Depp - Burton team seems to be slipping lately.............I forget what they said about Dark Shadows, but it was not laudatory
It referenced an inside joke...........at the expense of the viewing audience.
I never watched the series when it was an item on tv so know little about it other than it seemed dark and dreary at the time and not very well shot................so I never bothered

I think Depp and Burton reached a point when they should take a rest from one another. At least for some time.... I'm not saying that they may not create something really good in future together again.
