Hair

I've been growing my hair out. I've decided to keep going for a while. Maybe I'll donate it. Maybe I'll keep going until I can go topless and hide behind a curtain of hair ( Read more... )

I should have mentioned that I'm trying to avoid ponytail dent as I don't want to wash it tomorrow, but need to wear it down.

1. I am not sure you CAN donate it. I have read that you cannot donate treated hair (dyed). But I still like the idea of long hair!

2. UGH. as you might imagine this is terrible for me. I lean back on it, it gets under my when I try and sit up in bed, it gets in my face as I walk...I use mostly hand bags and try not to put them on my shoulder. If I must I tuck my hair under my jacket/scarf/coat if I can to keep it down. And when I do need to put it up...SCRUNCHIES, becasue they dont leave a mark.

The scrunchies might work, but my hair has a tendency to hang on to a shape, no matter how loose.

Yay, long hair! I'm glad that we both were able to keep to our pact! I have a goal of growing mine to cover my boobs too, though not to go around topless. Mostly just because it hasn't been that long since I was in high school.

I agree with the comments about the stretched-out hair bands and scrunchies. I've decided to reintroduce scrunchies into my life specifically to avoid the ponytail dent issue. They used to be so 1994, but now they're totally 2011!

When I don't want to pull it back, I either move it all to one side (to avoid the purse strap) or pull half of it in front of each shoulder (when I get tired of leaning on it when sitting in the car, couch, movie theater, etc). When I go to bed, I gather it all up off my neck lay it on the pillow above my head. I CAN'T STAND having it touch my neck when I'm trying to sleep.

I don't know if the scrunchies will work for me. My hair tends to stick in a shape. If it's straight, it will stay straight. If you bend it in any way, it will keep the bend. For me, the only way to get rid of a ponytail dent is to wash my hair. No matter how lose it was, the dent will not go away.

You're so funny. My hair would not DREAM of holding a scarf. That sucker would just slide right off.

But you are right, this does seems like a magazine TIPS! article.

Oooh, or this is more like the set-up for a really cheesy informercial. Long hair looks nice, but it's so hard to manage. You lay down, and you lay on your hair! You sit in the car, and you sit on your hair! You pick up your purse, and your hair gets under the strap! Your hair is either getting trapped or TOUCHING you! What can you do? Introducing the Hair Trapper. Now you...can trap your hair. No messing ponytail dents. No itchy hair on your neck!

Now I want to make this commercial.
