“A toast on your wedding day" Ray had smiled, full lips and big hugs, lifting his champagne. They raised their glasses, cocktails and ginger ale. But It wasn't quite the way he'd imagined it. Bert was missing. Glowingly beside him receiving the toasts or sloppily and joyfully offering them. Yet this was completely for him. Engaged had always been a weapon between them. Used to cut and burn. But married was one step further than the cheap shot sucker punch of engagement. It was a 45mm barrel pressed to the back of the head, hammer cocked and seconds from war.
