A Dell XPS M1730 would do you fine, and runs 1700 base config.

Getting anything by next Monday, though? Is gonna be rather hard.

I've had issues with mine for some games, but that's due to Vista 64 mainly. But, I'm running a Gateway P6860FX. The FX line from Gateway have a lot of power and features for a little price. I got mine for $1200 last year. They're going now on eBay for about $850. I'd sell you mine since I'm looking to get a desktop instead, but dunno about getting it to you by Monday. Heh :)

To follow up with Pat Trick, I have a Dell XPS 1530, paid about $1400 for it, and haven't regretted it a day. The 17 inch version is a _beast_ in weight and size; I'd recommend the 15 inch as actually portable, and not requiring its own donkey and cart.
