Bertie has a *date*- RL with Apollo

Oct 08, 2008 13:25

It really was a dashed fortunate thing that Jeeves knew about DramaDramaDuck, otherwise Bertie would have had a job explaining to him precisely who he was taking out for drinks that night.  As it was, however, he merely explained that Apollo- yes, the Greek deity chappie- was coming 'round for a moment or two, before the two of them would be ( Read more... )

It hadn't been hard to locate the 'dashed impressive, modern-looking sort of building' -- Apollo had frequented the New York City of this era in his own world often enough to know his away around.

He smiled as he alighted the elevator, requesting the fifteenth floor of the operator -- the man seemed surprised, it wasn't often that Bertie received guests that were so, well... distinguished. Apollo was dressed to the nines in the style of the period, and if he did say so himself (and he often did!) he cleaned up rather well.

Upon reaching his floor, Apollo strode down the hall towards Suite 2C with a bounce in his step; it was rather exciting, this. He never had gotten quite over the butterflies-in-the-stomach that came with first dates.

It was only a few more minutes of putting- with the glass rather miraculously remaining in one piece- before the doorbell buzzed. Bertie hastily spun around, adjusting his bow tie in the mirror; he was togged up properly for a night out- white tie and tails, as the old saw had it, with a carnation tucked into his buttonhole.

Whilst he checked his appearance, Jeeves oiled over to the door, opening it with a slight clearing of his throat. 'Mr-' he began to announce, but then paused, sounding, unusually, slightly off balance. Bertie very nearly goggled; this was Jeeves, after all! But he soon composed himself. 'Ah, Apollo, sir ( ... )

"If you insist," Apollo chuckled and stepped inside, removing his hat, revealing handsomely tamed, slicked back brown-gold curls. He handed his hat to Jeeves a touch shyly (the Sun God never kept servants himself, and never quite knew how to treat them, the idea of humans being subservient to others an entirely boggling concept) before turning his attention entirely to Bertie.

It took a great deal of self-restraint to resist kissing him right then and there, but somehow, Apollo managed to settle for a handshake instead. "It's wonderful to see you again, Bertie."

Jeeves took Apollo's awkwardness in stride with his usual ease, taking his hat and hanging it on the rack that stood next to the door. With a slight nod towards each of them, then, he shimmered off back to his duties. Bertie, for his part, was rather too busy staring at Apollo to take any real note ( ... )

Well, hello! Fancy seeing you again!

And oh, blimey, ages ago. I didn't just drop Bertie, I dropped out of DDD entirely. That was... hmm, November? I just didn't really have the time or the vested interest in the comm anymore, so after my three months of hiatus in which I attempted to get up the zeal to start up again, I dropped entirely. Eh. I've been playing around with loads of other characters since then, but not in any proper comms.

That said, if you ever want to do a personal thread with our two lads, I'd be thrilled to; I've been neglecting Bertie, I fear.

It is! Especially as I played at DDD for so long, and Bertie got so involved. Ah well.

That'd be fab! Any ideas on your part? I'm afraid my brain has been completely consumed with Doctor Who for ages now; I might be a bit useless in coming up with something.
