Retail Therapy

Getting off the Trolley was harder than getting on... Then there were the stairs, two god damn flights of them.

"Jag är jävligt trött" Berwald complained as he collapsed on his couch in their over-crowded dorm room. Hana was all over him and he paused a moment from bitching about hopping up all those stairs to shower some affection on the excited ( Read more... )

"Yay, Hana, you are going to have to start playing football so we can justify driving a football mums' car now." He joked. Sitting on the bed next to Berwald and peering over his shoulder at the laptop. His mind wandered to picture Berwald's new 'compound idea' and he had a momentary brain fart consisting of Mads kicking his football around a back yard with Hana. Wouldn't she love a yard to play in? Mads could probably use the space to blow off his excess energy... his imagination expanded to include Siguard tilling away proudly in an actual garden so he could stop with the sun lamps in his closet. It was bad that people thought the 'weeds' he was growing was 'weed.' Really. Siguard on weed? WAY too motivated and Mads? WAY too high strung. If Mads was a product of any drug it would be something like speed because he's way too high energy to be on pot ( ... )

When Tino returned upstairs... Berwald was propped against the sink in the bathroom, shaving his face and he had obviously washed up in the sink too. He was standing in just his fresh clean briefs. He couldn't get in the shower for at least four days, he couldn't get the stitches wet.

He would need help getting the brace on and off to change and clean his wound dressings and he was ignoring the pain for now. They needed to get to the drug store.

Getting clean, or as clean as he could get with a sponge bath helped his disposition. Shaving off that damn scratchy beard stubble helped too.

Feeling human was a step closer to feelings normal again. He still had a way to go, but getting back to routine grooming habits helped.

"How's the Car look Askling?" Berwald asked hearing Tino was back.

"It's shiny." He said, making sure Hana didn't sneak out. "You know what's best? We can go pick up the others from the hospital later today or tonight. I called Mads when I was waiting for the retailer." He said, leaning on the door frame of the bathroom and watching Berwald shave.

At least he wasn't catatonic at the moment. It was almost like he was normal again.

"Mads said they have to have one more meeting with the doctor, they put him on some heavy drugs. It's like he's a sloth and his brain is chugging along at a slower pace. Erik apparently lost his voice, but he's gotten it back, Ivan is in a foul mood because he can't drink while on his pain killers and Siguard's mood is equally foul as he's caught the flu from someone else in the hospital." He sighed heavily. "I just can't wait until the family's home again." He didn't even realize that he'd fallen in with mads in calling their group a family. Perhaps this compound idea was good. They already sounded like a cult by calling themselves a 'family'.

"Getting all of us in that Car would be a stretch." Berwald said setting his razor down and wiping off his face.

He smiled at Tino's reflection in the mirror. His back still to Tino watching the reflection in the mirror. "I see you checking out my ass. You'd be in trouble if it wasn't taking all the strength I had just to clean up here. I'd pounce you. It's been a WEEK since I had my hands on you without an audience." Berwald said turning around and sitting on the sink to look at Tino.

"I'm also harboring fantasies of playing Doctor with you right now. Hello nurse... where did you get those pretty scrubs?"

He just grunted into the dead phone. "Ivan, you cock blocking bastard." He huffed as he closed the phone and hopped up, pulling the scrubs shirt back over his head, not caring, it's the nearest shirt. "Let's get Pappa Bear dressed." He sighed sadly, going over to Berwald's dresser to collect a pair of sweat pants and a T-shirt. "They're going to be home soon. There's not even enough time to finish up quick." He whimpered. "I guess we'll both be thinking of Richard Nixon to kill it."

"I hate my life. I hate my life. Karma, Cosmic justice? Livet är för jävligt just nu." Berwald mumbled and rolled on his back. His poor arousal still sadly at attention as Tino came over with sweatpants.

"All I'm going to do in sweats is look like a fool, they sadly hide nothing. I swear I can't take much more of this. I'm buying us a house. TODAY." Berwald growled as Tino tried to maneuver the pants over his bulky brace.

"Be that as it may, I can't get jeans or slacks up and over your brace, sadly it's these or nothing. You only have one pair of PJ pants, seeing as you sleep all nude like." He sighed, already cooling down to room temperature.

"Don't do anything hasty. That's your boner talking not practical Nerdy Berwald."

Mads once more dared to ruffle the puppy's feathers before rolling off the bed and following behind Tino.

"We should be back in a little bit, you guys can help yourselves to some snacks if I'm not back by dinner time." Tino chortled, heading out the door.

Siguard muttered a goodbye before letting his head fall back on the pillow with Hana curled up on him. He hated his frail immune system.

Berwald looked at Ivan and Nodded his head toward his and Tino's bed. "Go rest a while, both of you. I'm going to be on the phone a while I'm sure. I have to keep busy. Keep my mind off things right now." He admitted truthfully to his friends as he dialed the realtor's office.

He was going to put a nice little dent into his bank account. Really just a blip in the over all radar, but for a man who rarely spent a dime on himself, this was going to give the bank manager in charge of his accounts heart failure at the sudden spend thrift he was becoming all in one day. He didn't dare tell any of the others in "the Clan" how much the house cost. He was certainly going to low-ball the offer and haggle, that was how the game was played and it would take many, many hours of time. If not days. But money talks, cash talks even more... but he was going to be lucky if he got out of these deal for under three million.
