how close I am to never going to school again. I only have two more days of class ever, and then one exam I have to go to class to take. The rest of my schoolwork has to be done at home. That's SO Bizarro. Once I can start to count all of the days left on my fingers i'll really be nervous ( Read more... )

after being nervous and unconfident in my music contribution for the last three years here in ann arbor around all of these music majors and brilliant people,

I HAVE COME TO LEARN THAT IT DOESN'T MATTER!

You CAN play instruments, you can play guitar and keyboard and piano as good as anyone here in bands or in class. Alls you have to do is start playing and you'll find what things there are for you to contribute---make yourself do it and you will feel better.

I know since I've started playing and recording and jamming with people just for fun on random instruments, I have felt like a more complete person and discovered that there ARE things I have to offer musically.

People don't care if you're good right away; they care if you are willing to try and improvise and add your own sounds to the whole. If you do become good at something, that you've really got something going!

I WISH WE COULD JAM we should jam this summer wanna jam with me?

we have hand drums and real drums and keyboards and synthesizers and pianos and organs and glockenspiels and guitArs and basses and my viola and wooden bangers and tambourines and! ANYTHING YOU WANT TO PLAY ANYTHING

that's half the reason i'm excited, since we're starting to hang out more and more, I know I'll begin to contribute. And we should jam.

This is what I need to keep in mind as well..Paul is sso damned talented with everything he picks up..I feel so silly touching anything..I haven't touched my guitar in forever aside from taking it down from its stand for Osro [who is also already insanely musical]....So I will take these words and make them into a Paul and Stina jam session. Prolly a little O in there tooo..yeay.
