I know Yifan sounds like a pompous ass towards Tao, but I sincerely hope that Tao doesn't go into infidelity so easily :( He sounds like he didn't try in the first place for Yifan, and now Kris comes with all his cheeky smile and sweeps Tao away,... I mean I get why Tao abhors Yifan, but because I feel like he's not trying makes it harder for me to sympathize---

But I'm idealistic. Ppl fall in and out of love, lust over a conquest, that's normal. I should be realistic instead. I hope if Tao falls, he wouldn't fall too much.

I think my mind would be blaring the lines "I KNEW YOU WERE TROUBLE WHEN YOU WALKED INNNNNN" but nah, it was Tao who walked into the room Kris was in -- it's impressive that so much tension was built up so quickly!

ah Tao's life in the capital sounds lonely, tho it did seem like Yifan was trying to make him happy ?? unfortunately of course with parties and luxuries that don't please Tao very much ;;

The canary that died is a metaphor for Tao, ermahgerhd! And Yifan just sighs at the wasted life rotting away in the cage when he can't see that his own spouse is also a trapped canary!
I quite liked the society you have set up. MalexMale marriage, okay, perfectly acceptable. Throwing Kris into this mix gives it the hint of harlequin romance that makes me thrilled.

Yes it is very heavily influenced by Anna Karenina but I've changed the plot. I simply like the environment to use a base but the plot deviates.

I was actually amazed how if you adjust AK a bit all that environment goes really rigid, dictatorial even. I know that Tolstoy despised the society and it shows, but i've never thought that there is just a tiny step between rigid and totally suffocating. So yeah I got like a new angle to look at AK thanks to you :D

And all hail to plot deviation! I've yet to finish the book, but I've watched the last movie with Keyra and god, how that ending irked me :(( i remember how much i anticipated that movie and what a total letdown it was :( esp compared to Wright's earlier works...and i'm very sorry for offtop orz
