The excitement of the announcement had worn off. Howard burned off his nervous energy gesticulating wildly in the car on the ride home. His rant stopped and started as he sometimes lost the words and sputtered. Clutching the wheel, Raj chanted ‘what the fuck’ as if it was his personal mantra. By the time they made it back to Raj’s apartment both were exhausted.
“Sheldon and Penny,” Raj muttered, dropping onto the couch next to Howard.
“It doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue, does it?”
“They should have one of those mash-up names. Like Brangelina.”
“Shene-lope.” Howard laughed and turned his head to look at Raj.
“She-ne-lo-pe,” Raj retorted, fluttering his eyes for emphasis. “I’ll pay you to call them that.”
“No way. I don’t want Penny to kick my ass.”
“Wuss.”
