A small group of Doctor Who fans are currently attempting to write and produce a series of audios based on the BBC Webcast,
Scream of the Shalka (written by Paul Cornell, starring Richard E. Grant as the Doctor and Sophie Okonedo/Liz X as his companion Alison). It’s based heavily on the format established by our beloved Big Finish (4 x 24 minute episodes), and the first (hopefully first - there are plans for more) series will run to 7 episodes with a contained arc. 3 of those episodes are written already, 4 will be finished in the next month or two - so it’s time to start the producing part! And for that we really need some help with production.
At present we have a very small production team, but we really want as many people as are interested in helping. The things we need done (in no particular order) are:
- cutting together audio streams (lots of this)
- writing music
- sourcing sound effects
- directing
- general producing (we are desperately in need of a production manager who isn’t me to co-ordinate the team).
- probably lots of other things that, in my ignorance, I know nothing about.
Voice acting will be recorded in Audacity with the fan-actors communicating with each other through Skype, so it doesn’t matter that none of us are in the same place.
If you’re interested in helping, please send me a PM or an email or reply in the comment to let me know how much time you’d be willing to put into the project/what you’re interested in doing/what experience you have. We’re happy to welcome you on board with no experience of anything, but some experience (of directing, or with audio programmes) would be good. Everyone and anyone who wants to help can take part - although we’re obviously going to need more cutting than directing. Please don’t over promise your time. If you can only do an hour or so a week, that’s fine. Just, please, let me know, so we can budget accordingly.
Other things you should know:
- A call for actors should go out in a couple of weeks. You can be part of the production team as well as an actor (unless you want to direct an episode you’re in, when things get difficult).
- The writing team do originate largely from Doctor/Master fandom, but everything’s as Gen as the original this series (and probably beyond).
- I’ll probably be overjoyed to take more people whenever, but it would help me work out what’s going on if you could get back to me before Thursday the 1st of September.

Sorry for the cross-posting.
x_los, who is the executive producer on this project as well as its script editor, will probably be replying to your comments as I have work today and she doesn't.
