you and me both baby.

when are you getting there? We're flying in on the Friday, and leaving on the Tuesday morning. We can hang! It'll be cool.

where are you staying? currently I think V and I will be sleeping on the floor at my friend Helen's house (she put me up last time) in Flemington, although this could possibly change. But we'll have to go record shopping and do fun stuff together.

Ooooh how exciting!

We are going on Saturday the 3rd and leaving on Sunday the 11th. Yeah it'll be awesome, we can go to this place called International Cakes which is AMAZING and eat loads of cake before record shopping!

We are staying at the Quest on Bourke. Which is quite embarrassing as it's a 4.5 star hotel in the centre of town, but we're staying in a two bedroom suite with my folks, who we are travelling with, so it'll be quite awesome. My dad works for Hewlett Packard and they get cheap(ish) rates at Quest hotels.

I might see if I can get my friend Helen to organise a B&S picnic ... there are a few people from the Sinister mailing list in melbourne who might be keen to hang out with the NZ contingent. let me work on it.

(Oh, hang on, it'll be winter, won't it?)

I know! I'm excited for you guys... there's this really good vegetarian takeout place in St Kilda called Veg Out Time which you should go to. So good. Mmm. The red pumpkin curry is better than Belle & Sebastian :)

And you have to go get coffee at St Jeromes because it's only $2 and it's good.

Melbourne is heaven for the tummy.

Yeah I love Melbourne to bits. I doubt whether a curry could be better than Belle and Sebastian. Is there any reason you said you really don't like them?
I was a little taken back, not offended, but I just don't get it!

Someone texted in and requested Funny Little Frog and I was curious to hear it, since their new album recieved such rave reviews and all. But it had never been my thing before that and Funny Little Frog didn't really change my mind! I'm really not into the whole twee thing... which must sound like utter blasphemy to you Lil Chief fans! Anyway, the fact that you guys love B&S and that you're going to Melbourne to see them and everything completely slipped my mind, and I didn't realise until you posted this. Sorry about that!

It's a bit of a delicate balance, really; i'm always touted as being the "poppy" one who likes the "light" music but, in truth, there's a whole lot of "good" music which crosses over into way too poppy and way too light for my tastes specifically. Basically, if I could go back to any decade it probably would not be the 60's :)
