I've considered myself vegetarian for years and years and years. But still ate gelatine. Found out about rennet in cheese, stopped that. Obviously don't eat potato wedges and the like with beef fat/beef tallow in them. But gelatine. Oh it seemed so unlikely that companies would be crushing up bones to get jelly stuff.
