That's a great scene--I wish I'd been there to see you two pull it off.

In other news, gah I love Roald Dahl's adult fiction. I kinda signed up for my first semester fiction course solely on the fact that the professor and I spent the entire interview discussing our love of his work. The Umbrella Man? One of my favorites.

Thank you Katie, Owen and I spent the majority of the scene trying desperately not to crack up.

I checked out Collected Stories by Roald Dahl from the library last week and have been reading it ever since. I read The Umbrella Man on the bus ride home tonight and it's one of my favorites so far. Short, sly and funny. If anyone else would like to read the story they can read it here.

It's so nice revisiting them. He was hands-down my favorite author as a kid, and I was beyond excited when I hit fourth grade and discovered his more mature stuff. Today, I remember the stories better than their titles, but I don't think I'll ever forget Man From The South, Royal Jelly, or...well, I've forgotten it. The one about the wine-tasting contest. But they're all good! I love how he can make things simultaneously funny, eerily delightful, and creepy.
