01. Spike speaks English, Cantonese, and some very faily Japanese; only bits and pieces.
02. Jet thought he was mildly retarded when they first met, because Spike spoke very garbled, a mixture of English and Cantonese that wasn't really understandable. This was because Spike and Vicious were so close that they hardly felt the need to speak too often - they just understood each other based almost entirely off body language and other cues.
03. His parents were both lowlifes who didn't really want a kid. They weren't married, merely living together. His father took off when Spike was very young, eight. His mother died when he was 12.
04. He lived on the streets for two years until Annie caught him shoplifting at her shop, tossed him over to Mao to give him "something to do." Mao took Spike in, and when Spike was 16, he officially joined the Red Dragon Crime Syndicate.
05. As per Red Dragon tradition, Spike killed his first man when he was 16, as an introduction into the Syndicate. ...This was shamelessly adapted from one of my favorite Cowboy Bebop fics.
06. Spike is currently, begrudgingly, a vegetarian, because of how Sasha killed him. The smell of cooked meat makes him nauseous, just by thinking about it |D;
07. The eye that he lost was replaced with one of the cybernetic eyes that can record, much like observed in the Pierrot le Fou episode.
08. On top of the fake eye, Spike also has a few caps on his teeth and a pin in his hip and his elbow, all from mob-related injuries.
09. Spike says he's an Atheist. He's not. He's just very, very pissed off at God and kind of confused on the topic.
10. Spike likened Steph to an improved Julia, someone more up to his speed. He was-- kind of falling in love with her, before she was terminated. He's consequentially taking her disappearance very hard, though he'd very obviously never admit to any of this, nor does it seem as though he is to anyone who doesn't know better.
