Of the myriad ways that Ron and Harry can come together after canon, this situation is quite plausible, yet rarely reflected upon. Or handled so well. Ron's feelings of powerlessness and detachment are nearly tangible. Brilliantly done.

I don't think I've read a dark take on H/R before but I really enjoyed this.

Part of me was hoping for a happy ending. But I guess it wouldn't hold with the feel of the rest of the piece.

I love your Ron voice and how they know how wrong what they're doing is, but carry on anyway.
