John is the only human that Nepeta never talked to before coming to the Gardens. She observed him, yes, and he seemed a nice enough fellow but the inclination never struck her. Here in the Gardens she finally met him and they had a nice little adventure in the training center that has got her a little more interested in him because she has learned that 'nice' doesn't really cover John. It's not every day that she finds someone even goofier and more cheerful than she is--or use to be, so she is definitely intrigued now.

At first Nepeta mostly just knew Dave through his strange relationship with Terezi, and casual observances of his interactions with Tavros. It's been implied that they may have talked before since she knows him as 'Awkete Purrmusk' and considers him cute but again, before her arrival at the Gardens Nepeta did not think too much about him.
He was, however, the first quasi-familiar face she had seen in about a month (having spent roughly that amount of time in a hospital before being shipped to the Gardens) and that alone would have made her fairly attached to him, but he has been very nice to her and took in one of the stray kittens she and Greece had found. So he has quickly risen in her favor, and being the first familiar face she's grown a strange attachment to him.

Of all four humans, Jade is the one that Nepeta is interested in the most! From her observations she was a very sweet and cheerful girl with whom she felt herself relating to a lot. They were both raised in the wilderness, they both adore animals, they are of similar disposition, and other small details. Jade is also rare amongst humans in that she was raised by an animal, much like trolls are. Nepeta was pretty much interested in becoming friends with Jade from the get-go.
She knows that Jade is in the Gardens, but she hasn't had an opportunity to talk to her yet, and unfortunately her enthusiasm has dwindled. Not because she thinks any less of Jade, but Nepeta has simply fallen into a slump and isn't as eager to meet other people and make friends as she once use to be.
Tavros Nitram - adiosToreador [AU]
Tavros is one of the nice trolls, and so of course Nepeta likes him. They seemed to have been friends for quite a while, or at the very least back when the crew was FLARPing since he mentions how Equius kept her from joining them.
Aside that, there isn't much to say. She has fun roleplaying with him, and is probably one of the few trolls who exerts patience with him or doesn't insult him in some way. She was pretty certain that Tavros was dead in her timeline, having seen walls covered in his blood and she likely blames Gamzee for his death.
The thing to note about this Tavros however, is that he is an AU--mirrorverse to be exact which means he is more or less the complete opposite of the Tavros Nepeta has always known and it is taken her a while to adjust. The stark differences between them is particularly unnerving because while Tavros is obviously not crazy or intending to murder anyone it still reminds Nepeta of the 180 that Gamzee took. While she really doesn't want to make him feel unwelcome, it's hard not to miss the cute, stuttering Tavros she has always known. Once she gets over her initial shock it's hard to say exactly where she will stand on him.
Karkat Vantas - carcinoGeneticist ♥
She and Karkat were taken during the murder sprees, both as they are about to be killed and so they share the same sense of disillusionment and have been in similar states of depression since their arrival. She's leaned on him and has tried to do her best by him since he's the only one she has really been able to talk to about how she feels--or was until Equius arrived. Nepeta is deeply flushed for Karkat, but since her head isn't quite in the clouds as they use to be, she's kind of learning that Karkat really doesn't have much interest in her. Chances are she will never tell Karkat how she feels, unlike how she did in SC. She already had her heart broken once when she lost Equius, she's not sure she could handle it being broken a second time.
Vriska Serket - arachnidsGrip
Nepeta use to be pretty scared of Vriska. After all, she was the one who killed Aradia, paralyzed Tavros, blinded Terezi and killed loads of other trolls. While she never harmed Nepeta herself just hearing that was enough to keep her away--it probably doesn't help that Nepeta is very good friends with Terezi who harbors a deep hatred towards Vriska.
In the end most of that disappeared when Nepeta came to the Gardens. For a while the two of them were the only trolls. What came as a shock to Nepeta was to learn that this Vriska was a sweep older than the one she knew, and that she had been here for that long. She quickly got over it, however, since she really was her safety net. Vriska was the one who explained most of what the Gardens was about and what to expect so much in the way she did with Dave, she has unconsciously formed an attachment to the spidertroll.

There is no one who means more to Nepeta than Equius. He will always come first, and no matter what everyone else says about him she thinks he is wonderful. This isn't to say that Nepeta is oblivious to his faults, hardly. If anything she knows them and all his less obvious ones better than anyone else, just as he knows hers. That's what being a moirail is all about.
In her timeline, Equius was killed before Nepeta's eyes by Gamzee. This has been the cause for such a drastic change in the girl, and will of course cause some changes in their relationship which I'm still trying to figure out. On one hand she is hurt that he did not fight back against Gamzee when he easily could have, on the other hand she is angry with herself for acting much too late in helping her moirail. His death seemed so permanent in her mind that seeing him again has thrown her for a loop. She really isn't sure how to act anymore.
